vintage australian made joanne walker doll in original outfit AUD$200.00
Joanne Walker doll stands 30" (76cm) and was made in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in 1950's. She was sold in a lace trimmed frock and matching bonnet. This was taken from the book "Australian Dollmakers a History" by Marjory Fainges.
Joanne doll is wearing what I believe to be her original pink dress, with her original pink shoes. Her pink bonnet is vintage but is not original to Joanne but a very good match to the outfit. There is some wear to the dress - see pictures, and a rust mark to one of the sleeves.
Joanne is over 60 years old and as such has a some marks and scrapes which are consistent with age.
I have given you lots of pictures to see for yourselves, and if you need any further information then please email.
Her face is very pretty with all original face paint. Her piercing blue eyes tend to stick but can be helped to open and shut when required.
Her wig is a replacement which I was told was an original vintage wig from another Joanne doll. It is a very good replacement for her, as you can see by the pictures of Joanne in Marjory Fainges book.
She can stand but needs help to stay upright by herself, and she needs help to sit by herself.
Joanne is a lovely example of the early Australian dolls, which are getting harder and harder to find, and to find one in its original outfit - very, very rare indeed.
(My book Australian Dollmakers a History does not come with Joanne)

unmarked australian bride doll circa 1950 composition/hard plastic vintage bridal outfit sold

We are unsure as to who actually made this doll, but believe she may be an early 1950 Australian doll. She appears to be wearing her original bridal outfit which is just gorgeous.
