These dolls were made in 1951-1957 by Ideal. They were either 16'' tall or 22'' tall, and were a walker type doll (similar to the Pedigree Walker dolls made in England) with pin jointed legs and a grill in her stomach for a mama crier. They had open and shut sleep eyes, open mouth with two teeth or a closed mouth. Some dolls had bent knees and the Saucy Walker doll came in a black version. She was marked Ideal Doll W16 or W22 based on the dolls height.
In 1954 Ideal made a 25'' tall doll called Saucy Walker's Big Sister doll. She was marked Ideal Doll W25. Big Sister looks very similar to 22'' Saucy only just a little taller.
She is a very rare doll to find.

VINTAGE 1950'S IDEAL SAUCY WALKER DOLL IN ORIGINAL OUTFIT AND COMES WITH ORIGINAL BOX $200.00
The Saucy Walker dolls were made in USA circa 1950 period, at the same time the Pedigree dolls were made in England. These dolls were not readily available in Australia, and most little girls were given Kader dolls or Pedigree dolls.
These dolls have such lovely happy and pretty faces.
Saucy's face has original blush to both cheeks, complete full eyelashes on both of her blue coloured open and shut eyes, original eyebrows, and a little open red mouth with 2 white teeth.
Her eyes open and shut well and are perhaps set a little bit back than normal. See our pictures. This is told for accuracy and doesn't detract from this gorgeous doll at all.
(The Saucy Walker dolls eyes are notorious for being a little tempremental and these eyes can be adjusted by lifting the head if necessary.)
She has her original brown hair in the usual plaited style. This colour is rarer as she usually comes in honey blond colour. We have also given her brand new red satin ribbons for her plaits.
Her mama box at the front does not work, and again that is usual for these dolls.
She has an even colour all over her body lighter than the other. One foot seam has been repaired, and the leg seems to have some scratches to it if you look very closely. There are also the usual darkening of seams. These are all told for honesty and accuracy.
She appears to have her original arm bands inside her which has stretched over the years and her arms do not stay up as they would have when she was brand new. We will give a new rubber band to the owner so this fixes the problem if they want to use it.
Her head moves with the walking action, and her walking action is a little stiff, but she is approx 60 years so she is allowed to be a little slower in movement.
She can stand and sit by herself with a little help.
She comes dressed to you in her original Saucy Walker dress with original onesie underneath, and original white plastic shoes and socks. One sock has some holes underneath which cannot be seen when on Saucy.
Her original box is in wonderful condition with some writing - 1952 Grade 2 - from the previous owner on top of the lid.
She is a 60 year old doll, and has the usual scuff marks of a doll which has been loved in a past life.

Her white socks are original (a little dirty) and her white shoes are original as well.
