Project Milettes - Clones of Small French dolls was done by Mildred Seeley.
She actually collected the antique Small French dolls in original clothing and reproduced the molds for them. The clothing was also reproduced with patterns so the dolls could be dressed like the original small dolls. Mildred named these dolls Millettes as they were under 12 inches tall.
There are black and white, and colour photos and illustrations and patters for clothing/costumes.
