ideal Dolls in Original Boxes
In 1969, Ideal's "Beautiful Crissy" was released to the buying public. Each production year enjoyed some new variations. Production runs of the Crissy doll early in 1969 had adjustable hair that "grew" down to the doll's feet. Later production Crissy dolls in 1969 had hair extending only to hip length. This became the standard length for the later models produced in the following years.
The greatest landmark of 1970 is that Crissy was joined by a companion doll, Crissy's shorter 15 inch (380 mm) cousin Velvet. With popularity of the doll increasing accompanied by rising sales, beginning in 1971, Ideal took the initiative to modify their ever-growing Crissy line of dolls. Not only were new models added to the expanding family, but by using new designs and mechanical gimmickry the dolls started "doing things."

Vintage 1970 Blue Crissy Doll in Original Costume, Original Box with Original Blue Woollen handle instructions- aud $180.00
The 1970 model of the Crissy doll had better hair quality, a new aqua mini-dress, and a new box design to depict her attire. Despite these minor alterations, the 1970 Crissy was basically the same doll.
Crissy is in her original aqua mini-dress outfit, aqua panties, and aqua/blue shoes.
Her red hair does not appear to have been cut in a past life, and her long red pony tail is in lovely glossy condition. Her dark open and shut eyes with original eyelashes work well. Her button hair winder works well.
Her box does show some wear but considering its age it is in good condition with the original blue woollen handle.
There are also original instructions to show you how to use Crissy, and the letter to "Mother". Crissy is in lovely condition.

Movin' Groovin' Velvet is Crissy's cousin.
She is very similar to her big cousin but Velvet can be moved backwards and forwards at the waist.'
Velvet has:
pretty with open and shut blue eyes with original eyelashes to both eyes.
. blush to both cheeks
. pink mouth.
.arms and legs move well and are not swingy.
. blonde hair is very shiny.
. pony tail retracts correctly with the button on her tummy and back. The back of her hair may have had a little haircut - not sure.
Velvet is :
dressed in her pink outfit with a purple bow at the front, and matching pink panties, and matching purple shoes.

"Look Around Crissy" model was released in 1972. This doll, who came wearing a jewel-toned taffeta floor-length gown, was different from previous Crissy models as it employed a mechanical apparatus, set in motion by pulling a pull-string. Once again, Ideal’s efforts were directed to create a more lifelike doll as "Look Around Crissy" doll’s head and waist were geared to turn and give the impression of "looking around" when the doll’s string was pulled.
Look around Crissy is in great condition. Her pull string works well, her hair winding knob works well, her dress/panties are very bright and colourful.and is wearing her original green shoes.

"Crissy's Cousin, Velvet," was recreated yearly in several issues from 1970 through 1974, all of which corresponded with the Crissy issues by year. This doll corresponded with Crissy in her "Look Around" issue and in a similar but shorter outfit.

VINTAGE TOTE CARRY BAG FOR BEAUTIFUL CRISSY AND HER FASHIONS AND CRISSY DOLL IN ORIGINAL GROOVY OUTFIT & SHOES $200.00
A large number of Crissy doll accessories were produced by Ideal along with a multitude of outfits in the "sold separately" clothing lines from 1969 to 1973. There is also a vinyl quilted padded vintage tote bag from circa 1970 which is in great condition with only one small tear to the inside - see photo
This case is marked c1970 Ideal Toy Co. it was actually sold in shops in 1971. It has a red plastic handle and has quilted yellow vinyl inside it. There are two compartments - one for your doll and another for her clothes. It is also done up with two working press studs at the front. These are usually broken so it is great to see it still in working order.
You will also receive a Crissy doll and she is wearing what I believe to be an original 1971 J C Penny 3 piece short set outfit. It is a long sleeveless blue jacket with white vinyl trim, white long sleeved one piece onesie shirt, and red hot pants with the matching white vinyl trim on them. Crissy is also wearing her original white Crissy shoes.
