SHE WALKS, SHE BLOWS AIR
ORIGINAL PLASTIC TAG AROUND NECK
ORIGINAL OUTFIT
47cm (18.50") TALL
What a find!
This little doll is now approx 30 years old, and she still works!!!
It is hard to really find out much about this doll, but we believe she originally would have had a bubble wand to blow bubbles in one hand. That hand moves up down and as she continually blows a stream of air from her mouth if the bubble wand was dipped in a bubble mixture she would blow bubbles. We have actually tried this out and it does work. While this is going on she walks at the same time (really a shuffle). She has two battery compartments at the back of her, and she requires 4 "C" batteries. One compartment makes her arm and legs move, and the other compartment makes the air come from her mouth.
So not only does she work but she is wearing her ORIGINAL OUTFIT.
This includes her pretty pink dress which is tagged, white panties, white socks and white plastic shoes. She is also wearing her red original plastic tag which is in the shape of a female child and states: Estrelaminha melhoramiga Her face and arms are a vinyl (hard), and her body and legs are a harder plastic.
She has :
. blue open and shut eyes,
. original full eyelashes to both eyes,
.original painted eyebrows,
. pink open mouth with hole in it to allow air to blow out.
. Her legs, arms and head can be moved to different directions.
. has beautiful rooted blonde hair which is in original curl
. still has original pink ribbons in little pigtails on both sides of her head.
Things to be told for honesty and accuracy: -
.arm is supposed to move up and down to blow bubbles but we cannot get it to work - you can still move the arm up manually and doll can blow bubbles
. bubble wand has broken off from hand and you can see little holes in the palm where it once belonged.
- one battery prong has broken off and we have fixed it with a silver paperclip with aluminium alfoil over it to enable the battery connection to be made so it can work. It does the job, and may be able to be fixed in a more professional manner.
. there are some fade marks on her dress, and some other marks which may come out with a wash.
We were so excited to find this doll, and is extremely rare find. Many of these battery dolls of this era no longer work.

rare giggles gui gui estrela doll working condition, original dress, necklace, original box aud$390.00
.original This is a rare Brazilian Giggles doll.
She was produced by Estrela SA, Estrela, a Brazilian toy company. This toy company was commissioned by Ideal Toy Corp to produce some of their dolls for the Brazilian market. Other Ideal dolls are Kissy, Patti Playpal and Crissy (Crecy). All of these dolls had subtle differences from their US counterpart.
Estrela produced Gui-Gui from 1968-1979. They made 2 or 3 kinds of dolls for each year. In 1984 Estrela made 3 more models and then stopped making them. They wear different outfits with variations in style and colours. They came wearing various footwear such as sandals and boots. Gui-Gui has the same giggle mechanism as the Ideal Giggle.
Gui-Gui blue eyes have a deeper blue shade than Ideal Giggles dolls..
Our Gui-Gui doll has:
.excellent working giggle
.deeper blue colour flirting eyes
.original white vinyl shoes
.original dress and panties
.original Estrela necklace around her neck
.original box with original elastic tie to secure doll
Things to be told for honesty and accuracy:
.box does show quite a bit of wear to the graphics
.neck, side, and bottom seams on doll are a little open but does not hinder working of her in any way as they can be pushed together.
Gui-Gui is an extremely rare doll and is wonderful to have her with her original box.
